About me

Welcome! I'm Miranda Alam, a seasoned photographer and photo editor based in the vibrant city of Los Angeles. Originally hailing from the picturesque landscapes of the San Francisco Bay Area, I ventured into the world of visual storytelling armed with a passion for capturing life's most poignant moments.

After graduating from UNLV with a degree in Journalism and a focus in Integrated Marketing Communications, I embarked on a journey to carve my niche in the dynamic realm of photography. Since then, my lens has journeyed across a myriad of landscapes and events, from the excitement of Las Vegas to the heart-pounding action of sports arenas.

My freelance endeavors have graced the pages of esteemed publications such as The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, San Francisco Chronicle, and Los Angeles Times. Notably, my work has garnered accolades from prestigious institutions including Pictures of the Year International, the Sony World Photography Awards, and the Nevada Press Association.

In addition to my freelance photo pursuits, I frequently serve as a contract entertainment photo editor for Getty Images, where I've had the privilege of assisting with capturing the essence of exclusive events like the Tony Awards, Golden Globe Awards, Grammy Awards, Vanity Fair Oscar Party and Billboard Awards, for clients such as Balenciaga, Moët & Chandon, Chopard, JBL, Mercedes-Benz and Netflix. From star-studded red carpets to intimate gatherings, I thrive on the challenge of distilling moments into timeless visual narratives.

Through my lens, I aim to encapsulate the vibrancy and diversity of human experience, weaving stories that resonate with authenticity and emotion. Join me on this visual journey as we explore the boundless possibilities of storytelling through photography.
